Kary sighed, staring into her tea. She hated the doctors appointment she just had to get to after today. The Chemotherapy was doing horrors to her hair. She swallowed the tea and almost broke down. She hated hiding things from her family and friends. She feared she'd have to drop out of school just to live. Another sip. Kami, life was so absolutely horrid. "What did I do to deserve this..? Why is God doing this to me..?" She hoped the chemo would help her. She wanted to at least live long enough to find that happiness she truely wanted. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet book lay open, and her eyes drifted over to the pages. She needed to finish it before she went back to school. It had been a few months that she had been absent. She took another sip of her tea and found it gone. Sigh. Kary wanted to cry...

Kei was late to work. Not by design, oh no. She had just been very busy at home, helping Mum get her things packed for another business trip, and fixing their coffee table which had decided to fail on them. So she hurried into the shoppe, apologizing to her coworkers, grinning and disappearing into the back room with another girl. They chattered happily, and Kei waved as she clocked out, fleeing work. So the Morimoto set off to work, bustling about, and working her way through the afternoon rush. Then she happened upon Kary, and she blinked. "Hi, do you nee–Kary-neechan?" Kei looked at her in worry. Kary had transferred to Kogyoku, but then suddenly vanished for a month...Kei had worried, but whenever she called, the girl never picked up. "Kary-neechan...?" She asked again, concern filling her eyes. "Are you alright...?" To be blunt, she didn't look too hot. She looked...well, sick.

Kary jerked her gaze up to her claimed sister and smiled weakly. "I'm fine.. kinda." She didn't make eye contact, so she shifted her eyes to her empty cup, holding back the tears threatening to fall. Quick change of subject, "How're you doing lately Kei? I keep hearing you knock into Moki-chan alot.. How's she been?" She asked the questions as if she didn't even know, as if Moki hadn't spent the last night at her house. Goofy Kary, trying to steer everyone away from the looming cancer, trying to keep lieing, even thouugh it killed her to lie.

Kei frowned. For all her noise and ditziness, she wasn't stupid. She was more perceptive than she let on, and it was obvious that Kary wasn't telling the truth. Still, she let it drop for now. "Me? I'm pretty good~ a bit drained, you know, but good..and Mokiki-nee..." She trailed off for a bit, before smiling with all the pep she could muster. "Mokiki-nee seems to be doing well. Is there anything I can get you now? New tea, anything to eat? It's all on the house~!"

Food.. oh food would be wonderful- if she could swallow anything without losing it at home whenever her brother walked in the room. For some reason the Axe-crap he wore made her stomach do flips. She shook her head, smiling weakly. "Oh.. tea.. yeah.. but no food.. I don't know why but my nose is very sensitive lately and it effects my stomach. Sooo..." She groaned holding her head. "Argh.. Kei-chan! I have cancer!" She winced, letting her head hit the table with a loud thud. Tears hit the table, soft sobbing. "Moki knows.. she spent last night at my house and.. she must've heard when Daddy was yelling at my brother for being a jerk to me.. I feel so horrible lieing to everybody but don't tell my sisters.. or Ai-chan for that matter.. she'll die.."

The great hyperactive Omo stepped in the door right when Kary screamed out the she had cancer. He tripped over his feet, almost stumbling into Kei, but caught his balance and could only stare off into space as the words sunk in. After the mental smack in the face (wtf?) he looked at Kary, his eyes begining to glass over with tears. "Kary?..." His voice cracked as he stared at her and couldn't say anything else.

Kei was quiet, sensing that Kary needed to talk. This was confirmed as Kary blurted out...Kei felt her insides go cold. This wasn't something she could fix, this was Kary's own body and... She sat down next to the girl and wrapped an arm about her shoulder tenderly. Kei simply sat next to her, offering an infinite calm that seemed almost oxymoronic coming from her. She met Omo's eyes and gave him a look to keep it together, before resting her head against Kary's. "I won't tell." She said quietly. She could understand why Kary asked that...it wasn't Kei's place to blab personal information around like that, after all. "Oh sweetie, I'm so sorry." She felt awful for not doing more to see if Kary was okay, for not being there.

Kary sobbed even harder hearing Omo. The tears that fell were like mini-waterfalls. "S-s-s..hic..s-so-sorry.." She clung to Kei, feeling bad for soaking her shirt. She didn't like lieing to anybody, her military side had told her to be honest, and the part of hte Cadet Creed 'I will not lie, cheat or steal'.. the poor girl felt bad for going agianst this creed. "I-I..I.. O-O-Omo.. I-I..."

"Don't be sorry baby, it's alright." She murmured soothingly, smoothing her hair out. The other patrons were watching in curiosity, but Kei ignored them. Wasn't their business. She held the girl gently, pressing her lips to her forehead. Poor kid. Still, she gently untangled herself and pulled away, motioning for Omo to take over. She still had to work, after all. She returned a few moments later with two steaming cups of tea and encouraging smile, before resuming work. Gotta bring home the bacon. :[
