**IM BACK!!!! But I dont know meh login name and such so I have no idea how to get on from that way... meh oh wellls...**
Takamatsu, that strange old being who had fled the city life for a few months had finally returned, his reasons for leaving far from being secret in any sense. Word spread fast on the streets that he had apparently been cornered by officers after a run in with the three thugs again, one of them having officially been 'finished off', while the other two finally decided never to bother him again and left it at that. He had been taken into custody, however, he had escaped and was now on the run, trying to keep his face from view of the public, but it was no use, they all recognized him almost instantly. Sneering angrily, people steered clear, very clear of his path and never made eye contact with him in any way. Stopping on the street, he lifted his gaze a bit to notice a military police officer a bit up ahead of him. DAMMIT! They both locked gazes for just a few seconds, the officer seeming to let the recognition hit him, just as Taku was turning to sprint off in the other direction. "STOP!", the officer ordered as he drew his pistol to 'contain' the alleged murderer that he was. But he wouldn't stop. Not on his life. He hated being caged. And when he was, his mind left him and he was no longer human in that sense as everyone became an enemy.

Beep...beep...beep...
The alarm was steady, in sync with the quiet pace of her heart, trying to wake her. Rolling, she pulled a pillow over her ears, to deafen the noise. Mother was pounding on her door, shouting for her to get up. She ignored her mother, curling back into her futon, and trying to grab more sleep. The door slid open abruptly. "Kei! You have to get up! You've been in bed for three days now!" The mass of blankets did not respond. Kei's mother turned off the alarm, sitting down upon the futon. Reaching out, she pulled the pillow away, smoothing out her hair. Kei didn't even twitch. "Kei, what's wrong? You've been in a funk for almost three months now...did something happen at school?" Silence. "Kei...KEI!" She turned her daughter over, who refused to change expressions. Shaking her, she glared, prying her eyes open. They focused on her in annoyance. "It's nothing, mum," Kei croaked. She received a cuff on the head for that one. "Nothing, my arse! Kei, what happened?" Kei disentangled herself from her sheets and her mothers lap, padding through an unnervingly clean room, and to the shower. "Kei!"
She could hear her mother bustling through the apartment as she stood beneath the shower, staring off into space. She could barely discharge her lethargy enough to bathe properly, to step out when the water turned ice cold. She rested her head against the cool porcelain of the wall, closing her eyes. She was still sore, still stiff, and still as tired as ever. Fumbling with the handle, she shoved the water off, and stumbled out to dress. She felt sick, without feeling sick. Tired, like she hadn't slept for the past seventy two hours, punctuated with brief stints of staring up at the ceiling in complete silence.
Her mother shot her a worried look as she pulled on her jacket, wet hair clinging to her pale face. No extravagant clothes, no smile. Just jeans, a shirt, and a plain sweater. She slipped into her shoes, only hearing a murmur as her mother spoke to her. Offering a half wave, Kei stepped through the building, and out into the spring air.
Time dragged by so slowly, for Kei now. She couldn't bring herself to feel anything, just watch, as if removed from the world, as life passed her by. Eyes half lidded, she roamed down the streets, joining a throng of people. She could only hear a faint buzzing of their words, see outlines and silhouettes. How long was she going to be like this? Just existing, empty, like she was dead and her body hadn't gotten the message to stop functioning yet.
People were whispering harshly, turning the buzzing into something sharp and painful. Looking up, she focused her gaze. They were pointing, watching some police officer pursue someone. Kei frowned deeply, and pushed her way through the crowd. She wanted to keep moving...
She broke free of the crowd, just as the sight reached, and passed the flock. They watched in morbid curiosity, like it was simply television. Her face managed to form an expression as...no. It...couldn't be... She was tempted to follow, get a better look. Instead, she simply continued on her way. Sound of a gunshot. People screamed behind her. Kei paused, nails digging into her arms, eyes shut tight. Don't turn back, don't turn back. Move on, move on... She glanced over her shoulder, biting her lip. The police officer and quarry were gone, of course. She couldn't have known if it really was him, or if...
She sighed, and turned back the way she came. She had to check. She'd never live with herself if she didn't.

One, two, maybe a third gunshot. People screamed and ran in every possibly direction there was, unable to decide what was best to do before some got smart and just threw themselves down into the cement to single him out. "HALT!" The 'cop' said again as Taku skid around a corner and shoved through more and more people, having just turned the right street to be heading directly towards one of the main reasons he had wanted to return to this city and risk unveiling himself to the public once again. Takamatsu had let thoughts run through his mind on where to go next, but he didn't know. He just didn't know. Without a warning of any kind, he turned his attention forward hardly in enough time to see that one face he loved to remember, it surely enough bringing him to a sliding halt as the officer behind him caught up with his pistol still raised and now steadily aimed at Taku's back. "FREEZE!" He yelled. Sirens. None of the world's sounds seemed to even get to him as he looked straight ahead to the girl's face that was right before him, a bead of sweat running down the side of his face. He couldn't move. "...K..." His mouth surely moved to make the name, but it wasn't any easier for him to say it. "K... Kei..."

Her lips formed a silent 'o' as she met gazes with him. Amidst the emptiness, something stirred in her, and she could feel blood running through her veins again. Like entering a warm room after being stranded in a blizzard, feeling returning to a numbed body. She bit her lip. Four months, it had been, since he'd disappeared. April, nearly May now, with the cherry blossoms in bloom, and her world upside down. She wanted to hate him, for leaving like that. Just up and going, leaving her to worry, scan the newspapers. She'd heard the rumors, feared, and tried to sort it out in her head. Then It had happened, and she'd dulled to the world. She never told mother, or anyone. She didn't talk about It. Didn't think about It if she could help it. And yet, as he stood before her, breathing heavily, she couldn't bring herself to yell and scream like she had sworn she would. She simply dashed forward, ignoring the world and wrapped her arms around him, clinging to him tightly, as though it was simply a bad dream.

His eyes widened somewhat in complete disarray as she flung forward and into him, he unable to really comprehend at the moment what exactly was going on until she had finally held onto him for a couple seconds. Staring down at her in awe, he narrowed his gaze as he was brought back to the situation at hand and carefully glanced back behind him to the officer who had been willing to fire earlier. As slow as he deemed necessary, he let his arms wrap gently around the girl in front of him, unable to help himself as two vehicles blaring their sirens roared around the corner and to a stop. "....Eh.." He held tightly now to Kei, unrelenting as the officer even yelled at her to get away while the others in the cars got out and cocked their pistols.

She'd sworn to herself that she was going to move on. That she'd forget about him, let her heart choose someone better for her. She'd tried. Good god, she'd tried. So much for that plan. "Why...can't I hate you? Why?" Burying her face into his chest, she shut her eyes tight. She didn't want to remember what circumstances had brought him back to her, that they'd take him away again. Then she'd be alone, left to fend for herself again, back to the emptiness. And even though he'd only brought heartache and pain, she was feeling something. At least like this, she felt alive.

"....." He said nothing, just held her carefully, letting his head fall upon hers as he took in her scent and smirked gently, whispering softly into her ear for only her to hear. "Im sorry Kei... I didn't mean for this to happen... Play along now would ya? I love you..." He said fragily before instantly narrowing his gaze and lifting his head, grabbing her roughly, but softly, and turning her around to hold her away from him like a hostage. "Come any closer... I dare you all..." He spoke threateningly, even though he really had no weapon at all to use against them, just his wit. Now he slowly moved on down the street, watching his back and then returning to the front every now and then to watch them scramble about, even more sirens beginning to blare. Officers yelled at each other. 'LET ME TAKE THE SHOT!', but others yelled back. 'HES GOT A HOSTAGE YOU MORON!!!'

She looked up at him, and bit her lip. Play along...? Feeling him pull her around, she stumbled, looking up at him with wide eyes. It clicked in her brain, and she managed not to grin. Instead, she let her expression read of panic as she looked up at the officers. Wide eyes, slight tearing, paling of the skin. Oh she was good. She stumbled along with Taku. Though she certainly recognized the danger of the situation, she was trying not to giggle. It was just...well, this was certainly an interesting way to reunite.

Taku stopped in silence as he turned his head to the side, watching the cops try to sneak the corner behind him. "Get back you morons!" He growled lightly. "Look at this... Our most ancient of traditions have been defiled by the unrelenting passage of time... Pathetic... Now there is no more need in the world for warriors like myself and a few select others Im sure..." At these words, some of the men had actually lowered their weapons and felt ashamed, but most kept them raised, staying with today's research. Others lowered their weapons because of the look on the girl's face.

She hoped he had a plan. Because with all these cops, she was really starting to get nervous. Biting her lip, she looked back at him, as if to ask, 'any minute now...'.

Taku thought in silence for a moment as he let his head shift back and forth, unsure of what to really do in this situation. After a few more moments, his eyes narrowed in quick understanding, "Alright... I got it..." He whispered softly to her. "This is what I need you to do..." His mouth was hidden to the cops as he spoke just to her. "Im going to switch my attention away from you for a moment, when I do, take me down... Don't even begin to argue... Once I'm 'out'" He smirked at his thoughts. "Tell them that you were a bounty hunter sent by thee Toshii Maeda... They won't dare take another step... Then, well... I hope you're strong enough to carry me off... Heheh... Its all I got, but it'll work... Now get ready..." He raised his head and turned towards the cornering cops once again, turning away his attention. "I SAID STAY AWAY YOU BASTARDS!!!"

Kei wasn't quite sure how she, a small, five foot three, hundred something pound girl could take him down, but, hey...whatever. He was obviously a hell of a lot smarter than she was. She sighed internally. Well, thank the kami that she'd paid attention whenever Moki-nee and Hitomi-nee had bugged her to watch them spar. And that they'd taught her summat. Feeling him pull away, she rapidly applied a simple stranglehold. Pinch the cartoid arteries and jugular veins, it causes cerebral ischemia and hypoxic conditions in the brain, unconsciousness occurring in eight to fourteen seconds. Thank you Human Anatomy and Physiology for reminding us of that disturbing packet of information. The seconds passed, and she was internally raging at him. Hating him for making her do this. She hated it with a passion. Feeling him sag, she shifted. For her, the guy was fairly heavy. Dammit. She could feel the cops approaching and she closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. When she reopened them, they were cold, lifeless. Kei, ever the little actress, quirked a delicate brow. She'd barely let the words 'Toshii Maeda' fall from her lips and they'd paused. Within moments, almost miraculously, they were backing up and away, gazing at her with conflicted expressions. She'd have to ask this idiot about it later. She smiled cheerily and twitched her fingers at them, waiting...waiting... She finally released him, slinging his arm across her shoulder and dragging him on. If memory served, he'd regain consciousness within half a minute or so. Random bits of knowledge DO help in the real world! Imagine that!

It all happened way to fast for Taku to even realize what was being pressed into his neck. As he finally understood, he seemed to become dazed, his eyes glazing over ever so slightly before he slumped against her and basically laid there upon her in a motionless sense. Having been easily lifted and carried off by his one love, he awoke a few minutes later, his eyes seeming to hold a sort of cringing tint to them now. He awoke to himself being drug along by Kei, his head slowly shifting right and then left to see her face, a sort of smirk and warmth washing over him. "I see... You are quite... proficient..." He spoke in a sort of slurred manner, still feeling the draining effect of her attack, regaining his right to use his legs. "That was rather uncomfortable, but I do suppose it was neccessary, otherwise we would have never gotten out of that one..." He then just left it at that, giving no real explanation as to why the men and women, mostly men, in uniform had backed up upon hearing the name Toshii Maeda... It was rather an interesting sight, if he did say so himself. "Heheheh... Now... Let us be out of here and awy from those officers so I don't have to relive that dark hell of a jail pit again. Leaning over ever so slightly, he planted a small and gentle kiss right on her cheek before speaking in a soft whisper. "Thank you..."

She'd glanced down to him as he'd begun to stir, heart pounding in her throat. She didn't want to touch him–touch anyone. She'd reacted without thinking before, embraced him because she'd needed him so, but now, now with some clarity... She tried not to panic. She felt dizzy, sick, terrified. She couldn't let him go because he was still regaining his feet, but kami if she wouldn't go mad if he kept touching her and– "Moki-nee made me learn." She managed quietly. Kei hadn't wanted to, but had done so in order to shut her up. She hated that knowledge. Feeling his lips touch her cheek, she flinched and offered a quiet shriek, before clapping a hand to her lips. Cheeks flushing, she stared at the ground intently. Kami why wouldn't her hands stop shaking? Because you remember how it felt that agony as they– Stop it please I don't want to remember! But you have to, because what if it happens again? What if betrays you and hurts you like they did, what if he tries to take that away from you to find– STOP! She didn't know if she was crying or not. She just felt panicked, caged, and she had to get out. Abruptly, she pulled away, stumbling back. "I'm sorry, I can't, I–!" She stumbled over her words, trying to calm herself. Why did he always have to look like a predator, even when he was calm, when she could see love in his eyes? Because prey imagine predators everywhere Kei... "I...know a place." She whispered quietly, voice raw. "I know a place we can stay." And, more importantly, she knows a way to get out of here, leave this all behind.
[[Mwahaha. I'd almost forgotten about the SUB PLOT OF DEATH.]]

Taku was completey taken off guard by her actions, letting his arms release from her and hold off on the sides. His gaze narrowed a bit as the piercing eyes that were Taku's immediately honed in upon Kei. "What are you saying Kei...?" He continued to not understand what it was she was doing, disturbed in almost all aspects by her actions. As she finally spoke of a place to hide, he just nodded gravely and sighed, beginning to make their way off. "Kei listen, if you don't want me to... be like that... Then that's fine... Just let me help you..." He spoke softly, keeping his distance now seeing as how she freaked out last time he touched her. Taku may have looked strong upon the surafce, but the easiest change was in his eyes, a look of what was almost betrayal seeming to appear. Falling silent wasn't one of his specialties, although, he had to seeing as how saying anything else would probably make it worse.
